Amateur Sport
The wide range of sporting facilities and the strong sporting tradition to be found in Sutton Coldfield continues to go from strength to strength.
The Trust supports all types of amateur sports clubs which has included tennis, squash, football, table tennis, netball, Judo, sailing and rugby. The Trust has helped finance the upgrading of facilities at Sutton Rugby Club enabling it to attract the Romanian and Samoan world club teams for the World Cup in 2015.
Grants from the Trust helped establish the Sutton Coldfield Rowing Club on Powell's Pool and Sutton's only boxing club, located in Rectory Park, by providing equpiment and premises costs.
The Sutton Coldfield Communty Games started in 2012 and attracted over 5000 people over two days with the opportunity to try over 50 different sports free of charge. It enjoyed similar success in 2014 and now has plans to run in 2015 and 2016. The Trust is proud to have been involved from the very beginning and has provided a substantial amount of sponsorship.
