Almshouse APPLICATIONS

We provide recently refubished accommodation for older people at Lingard House in Walmley. Each of the 46 properties has a double bedroom, living room, kitchen, bathroom, storage space and is equipped with a 24 hour emergency call system connected to two resident Wardens during the day and a Monitoring Centre overnight.

The site has attractive, well-maintained gardens and a newly extended communal facility offering a lounge, conservatory, laundry room, computer suite, games room and craft room.

Grant APPLICATIONS

Sutton Coldfield Charitable Trust has been in existence for nearly 500 years and offers a range of grant programmes to benefit Sutton Coldfield and its residents. We make grants in the following categories:

  • The Relief of those in Need by reason of youth, age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage
  • Education
  • Arts, Culture, Heritage or Science
  • Religion
  • Health or the Saving of Lives
  • Citizenship or Community Development
  • Amateur Sport
  • Environmental Protection or Improvement

Grants to Organisations

The Trust supports a broad range of organisations and activities that share a commitment to making a positive impact to the lives of the communities in the former Borough of Sutton Coldfield and have effective solutions to helping those most in need.

Grants to Individuals

Individuals in need, by reason of youth, age, ill-health, disability, or other disadvantage, can make an application for items such as domestic equipment, further education, childcare costs and to meet other needs.

School Clothing Grants

Every year, the Trust offers school clothing grants, in the form of vouchers, to low-income families who live in the former Borough of Sutton Coldfield and are in receipt of certain benefits.
