Grants for School Clothing

Every year, the Trust offers school clothing grants, in the form of vouchers, to low-income families who live in the former Borough of Sutton Coldfield and are in receipt of certain benefits.

WHO MAY APPLY?

Parents/guardians of children at Primary and/or Secondary School can apply if they are:

  1. a permanent resident of Sutton Coldfield in one of the following electoral wards:- Sutton Mere Green, Sutton Four Oaks, Sutton Vesey, Sutton Wylde Green, Sutton Trinity, Sutton Roughley, Sutton Reddicap, parts of Sutton Walmley & Minworth, and
  2. in receipt of any one of the following support payments:
  • Income Support
  • Child Tax Credit
  • Working Tax Credit (note: maximum income levels may apply)
  • Job Seeker's Allowance
  • Guarantee element of State Pension Credit
  • Employment and Support Allowance
  • Universal Credit

WHEN AND HOW TO APPLY?

Applications can be made from the start of Summer Term by collecting a form direct from Sutton Coldfield schools, or you can  Contact  the Trust to receive a form by post.  Alternatively, an application form can be downloaded and printed from this website . Applications must be made by 31 October.

 

WHAT IS THE VALUE OF THE GRANT?

The value of the Grant is currently £75.00 per child.  Grants may be given for a maximum of 4 children per family ie. £300.00.

HOW IS THE GRANT PAID?

Grants are made by issuing vouchers that can be used at Clive Mark Schoolwear, Boldmere.

Vouchers for successful applications will be sent to Sutton Coldfield schools at the beginning of July for distribution before the end of the school year.  Vouchers for successful applications processed after this date, will be sent by recorded delivery directly to the applicant.
